The Route

London to Liverpool is about 215 miles to the north west, via the M1 and M6, one of our longer long distance chauffeur routes. There are many trains from Euston to Lime Street, so the road is used for particular kinds of journey.

It is mostly these fixtures. Matches or concerts in either stadium, events in the waterfront, conferences at the arena and convention centre, and cruises from the terminal by the Pier Head. All of these run to fixed times and draw crowds, which makes it worth booking the car rather than paying fares.

Going up, the train is faster and more comfortable, and for a single traveller it beats the car outright.

Coming home is where it lets you down. Fixtures and concerts empty out in a rush towards Lime Street, the last trains can leave before the event itself has finished, and a group of four ends up paying eight fares against one car.

What is included?

The Congestion Charge and ULEZ are included at the London end where applicable, along with all tolls including Mersey tunnel toll, when crossing the river. There is no clean air zone charge in Liverpool.
